Each February, we create I.V. bag covers for the young patients at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. The covers look like our favorite lion, Sir Fidel. This project was inspired by one of our members. Her son was hospitalized at Joe DiMaggio's with a serious illness. Even at his young age, he recognized a certain color I.V. liquid would make him sick. The Sir Fidel cover camouflages the contents of the bag to make it less scary. Some of the children even used Sir Fidel as a puppet! |
